RECORDER NINJA

Get ready to wow your music teacher and friends by committing to this 1-week recorder intensive.  Students will earn “belts” as they level up their recorder technique and musical skills in this dynamic program. This week is ideal for students who are preparing to begin recorder study in school, improve their current skills, or to complete their lifelong dream of earning their black belt as a recorder ninja!
Parents, the best part of this 1-week intensive is that no home practice will be required!

BEGINNER BROADWAY!

This class will combine the triple threat of singing, dancing and acting to learn the art of musical theater. During the week, kids will be combining song, spoken dialogue and dance to create a short performance (shown at the end of the week for family and friends) based on a classic film or Broadway show. This class promotes neurological development, boosts confidence and self-esteem and can be a great emotional outlet for children. Give your kids dancing, singing and acting skills that they will have for the rest of their lives!

GLITTER & GLUE!

Different arts and crafts projects each day!  In this class we will capture your child’s imagination, stimulating their creativity and exercising their developmental skills. Crafting is an excellent way to strengthen fine motor skills, visual motor skills and improve bilateral manual dexterity and coordination. Improving all of these skills is an excellent way of building independence and confidence for your child. Paint, sew, cut, glue, sparkle – make something for yourself or a friend. Christine has over ten years working with children from preschool to school aged children and knows how to have fun and creative classes!

BRAIN GAMES

Join us for a variety of brain game activities!  “Brain Games” are a great way to stimulate and develop young minds, exercise cognitive abilities and lay a foundation for mental health. Playing “Brain Games” is a fun way to increase memory, concentration and problem-solving skills.  Examples include, Legos, Rubik's Cube, speed “cup” stacking, sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, memory games, musical games, brain teasers, scavenger hunts, math & logic games and many more. Be ready for a new twist on outdoor games that will challenge your mind and body.  Learning is disguised as fun and this is a great way to build confidence and friendships!

ARTSY SMARTSY

Through self-expression in art, students benefit with greater self-esteem, reduced stress and improved academic achievements. Students who are actively involved in art are more likely to show more interest in math and science-based activities. This week, kids will learn several different styles of visual arts including drawing, zentangle, art history, painting and more.  Kids will end the week with several pieces that they can be proud of!

BEE-LIEVE YOU CAN CROCHET!

In one week, kids will learn the art of crochet, a process of creating textiles by using a crochet hook to interlock loops of yarn, thread, or strands of other material. Students will work on creating a crocheted bumblebee while learning about the importance of bees in nature. We might even expect a visit from a beekeeper to teach us some extra facts and sample some bee made products!

SNACK ATTACK

In this popular culinary program, students get to help create yummy snacks and learn some simple kitchen skills and nutritional science. Children who cook often become children who will taste and try more diverse foods including fruits and vegetables!  In this class children will learn about measurements, the importance of following directions, early literacy, sequencing, health and hygiene. Children who cook tap into their creativity and develop earlier emotional growth.  Cooking together at home is a great way to bond as a family!

WHY? BECAUSE SCIENCE SAYS SO

Students will engage in a variety of science experiments that will allow them to develop an appreciation for life around them.  This class will help students develop scientific vocabulary and terminologies that they can use throughout their lives when discussing the latest news in science. It is a fun way to teach children about concepts like observing, comparing, classifying, measuring and predicting using real-life examples through hands-on activities. WARNING! Some experiences can get messy!
